Last Week We learned about leaves, fall changes, and the letter B. We also went on a fall scavenger hunt and saw acorns and squirrels. The kids really enjoyed spending a little extra time outside in the nice weather. So did the teachers!
This Week It is a short week this week, since we have our pumpkin patch field trip on Thursday and Friday. So over the next two weeks, we will be talking about farms, harvest, and pumpkins. This week we will be matching and counting farms animals, making our own farms, and reading some fun farm books. Teacher Sally and I are looking forward to picking out pumpkins with the kiddos this week!
Pumkin Patch It's here! Thursday 10/16 and Friday 10/17 at 9:30am we will be at Vancouver Pumpkin Patch. There is a petting zoo, hay tunnel, and hay rides. If you don't normally come to school on those days, we would love to have you join us whichever day works for your schedule. Here is the info: Vancouver Pumpkin Patch at Velvet Acres www.vancouverpumpkinpatch.com 18905 NE 83rd St., Vancouver, WA 98682 Cost: $5 per child, includes a pumpkin Please sign-up on the sheet outside the classroom so we know who will be attending. You can pay either Teacher Jaylene or Teacher Sally when you drop-off/pick-up. It's $5/child. Also, remember that if you can't attend the field trip, we don't have class either of those days. Hope to see everyone there!
Don't Forget! Reminders about missing paperwork went out in cubbies last week. Please make sure to turn in anything missing by this Wednesday, October 15. Thanks!
Fundraisers I wanted to let you know that 100% of the profits from the Scentsy fundraiser that is currently running through Wednesday, October 15 are being donated to Little Acorn. Thank you, Karli!
Portfolios We are starting to build our portfolios. If you haven't yet brought in a white, 2-inch binder, please bring one in this week. Thanks!
Illness Don't forget to call and let us know if your child is sick and won't be at school. You can call the office directly at 360-693-5614 and leave a message for Teacher Katie. You can also text Teacher Jaylene at 360-624-3673.
Word Wall--Letter CWeek It's C for cat, can, and cup this week. Children may bring in something to share that starts with the letter C. We have a basket in the classroom to keep things safe until we share them at closing circle. Your child is welcome to bring something each day they attend class.
2014-2015 If you are considering adding any days to your child's enrollment, we still have spots available in the Butterfly Class. I'd be happy to talk to you about it, or you can stop by and see Katie in the office. Also, if you know anyone who is thinking of looking for a preschool this year, let them know it’s not too late to start. We love making new friends even after the first day of school!
Thank you for sharing your children with us - Teacher Jaylene and Teacher Sally

The second one says, "There's a chill in the air." The third one says, "But we don't care." The fourth one says, "I'm ready for some fun." The fifth one says, "Let's run and run and run!" Oooooo went the wind and out went the lights. And the five little pumpkins rolled our of sight.
