Family Fun Night This Friday, February 27
Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss! We are having a Dr. Seuss family fun night this Friday, February 27, from 5:30 - 7pm. Come join us in Jason Lee Hall to celebrate Dr. Seuss. We will have lots of fun activities for the whole family - art projects, games, and stories. Can't wait to see you there!
Last Week - Messy and Creative Art
Our crazy art last week turned out to be so much fun! We read The Dot, and the kids did their own dot paintings. We painted with fly swatters, our hands, salad spinners, and shaving cream. Our spin art is hanging in the classroom tree. Please feel free to come on in and see our "Art Tree."
This Week
Friendship - Friendship Rocks and We Can Be Super Friends are our themes for this week. It is the right age and time of year for our Butterfly friends to be figuring our how to navigate friends, communicate more effectively about sharing and feelings, and how a good friend acts and speaks. We are going to focus all our activities and learning on building positive friendships and skills.

Word Wall - Letter R
This week we will be focusing on the letter R for red, ring, and rabbit. Please help your child find something that begins with the letter R if they would like to bring in something for sharing. Thanks!

Upcoming Events
Mark your calendars for our pancake breakfast and art show on March 21st. Also, we are having our school auction at Big Al's on April 18. More info on both events to follow in upcoming newsletters.

We will be talking about the schedule change each day this week to prepare kids for the following week. Please talk about the change at home, as it will help ease the transition. You can let them know that circle time will be right after we sign-in and pick jobs, followed by table work, and then play/snack. Thanks for your help in preparing for this fun change!

ALLERGY REMINDER
Just a quick reminder that we are a NUT FREE ZONE. All tree nuts and peanuts, including peanut butter, are not part of our snacks, cooking projects, or party fare. Please remember when bringing treats for birthdays and holidays that nuts and nut butters of all kinds are not to be included. We want to keep our students safe and healthy. Thank you for your concern and understanding!
Last Week
Thank you to all the parents who brought in food and treats for our Valentine party last week. Thanks, also, to the parents who came to help set-up and stayed to clean up. The kids had a blast having a dance party, doing our heart name chains (they are in the classroom windows - come on in and see them!), as well as talking about love - what is love, who and what we love, etc.

This week, we are going to have a lot of fun doing all different kinds of art projects. We will be playing with watercolors, shaving cream, kool aid paint, spaghetti, and crayons, just to start. Please make sure to send your child in clothes that can get messy and dirty! Thanks!
