This Week - Eric Carle
We are finishing March off with one more author focused week - Eric Carle. He is one of my favorite authors, and his artwork is so creative and engaging. The kids will get to make their own Eric Carle paper, using paint and a variety of tools to create different textures. Then we will create our own cooperative picture with the paper we make. If your child has any favorite Eric Carle stories, please feel free to bring them in for us to read this week!
Fieldtrip This Thursday!
We will be taking a fieldtrip this Thursday, March 26, to the downtown library on the corner of Evergreen and C St. Our storytime begins at 9:30, followed by time to explore the play area and check out books. We will meet in the lobby between 9:15-9:30. ALL students are invited to attend the fieldtrip, even if it isn't your regular day to come to school. We would love to have everyone join us!
Reading Groups
Reading groups are going so well! Please remember to read the book and do the homework with your child and return the folder and materials before their next reading group. The books are rotated through all the groups, and I have a limited supply of copies. Thank you!

Word Wall - Letter V
This week we will be focusing on the letter for van, voice, and violin. Please help your child find something that begins with the letter if they would like to bring in something for sharing. Thanks!

Seussical Jr.
As a school, we will be attending Seussical Jr. on Tuesday May 19. They play begins at 9:30am at the theater at Fort Vancouver High School. Tickets cost $6 each. Keep an eye out for the sign-up sheet outside the classroom next week.
