Butterfly Class News Week of September 15-19 |
|
This Week Pete the Cat is going to visit us this week and teach us about starting school, colors, numbers, and letting things slide. I love Pete the Cat, and the kids will, too! We will have lots of fun projects to do, and learn some new songs. Make sure to check out the Friendship Paintings hanging in the hallway by our classroom that the Thursday and Friday kids did together.
Portfolios and Family Pictures Don't forget to bring in a white, 2-inch binder for your child. We want to assemble portfolios for each of the students this year, which will include alphabet and name practice, selected work, and art projects. It will be fun to fill these and create a keepsake for you to take home in June. Also, if you could bring in a picture of your family, we are going to post them on our classroom board. It’s a very helpful tool if a child is having a rough day being away from home. Thanks!
2014-2015 If you are considering adding any days to your child's enrollment, we still have spots available in the Butterfly Class. I'd be happy to talk to you about it, or you can stop by and see Katie in the office. Also, if you know anyone who is thinking of looking for a preschool this year, let them know it’s not too late to start. We love making new friends even after the first day of school!
Word Wall In the next 2-3 weeks, we will begin focusing on one specific letter of the alphabet each week. For now, your child may bring in something to share that is special to them. We have a basket in the classroom to keep things safe until we share them during circle time. Your child is welcome to bring something each day they attend class.
